What would be a good alternative to ferrets?

Bottom line is that I love little fluffy creatures that will cuddle. I had ferrets but my parents sold then cuz they smelled. Bad. So I really miss them and I'm a freshman now (girl) and I really want a cuddly pet. I already have a dog cat and bird.my parents won't get me another ferret because of the smell so what would be a good alternative?
